Who's Leading? Social Media Week 2012

31 Aug, 2012 by Michelle Drumm

While we can encourage individuals to work collaboratively and share information using social media, they face many obstacles when trying to use these tools and techniques back in the workplace. The obstacles are technical and cultural. Many organisations technically block access to sites, albeit allowing access on request.

On Monday, 24th September from 5.30pm to 8pm - as part of Social Media Week 2012 - we will host a 'question time' event to discuss Who's Leading? That is, who within organisations can lead the move towards cultural change, from which technical change should follow? And which organisations are already leading the way? A panel of ‘influencers’ will be asked how we might break down these barriers.

It's a free event, with wine and nibbles available from 5.30pm, so do come along and join what is shaping up to be a lively and interesting debate. The event is a joint initiative of IRISS and the Improvement Service.

For further information and to register for the event, please visit the Social Media Week website. As Social Media Week is the adminstrator of all events, please note that you will need to register or login in order to book a place.

We look forward to seeing you there.
