Community research
This project ran during 2010 and the beginning of 2011. It aimed to establish a community research project with young people in Glasgow.
We worked with a group of young people who were, or had been, in care to carry out an evaluation of Who Cares? Scotland's advocacy services. The research was designed, carried out, analysed and reported by the young people with training, assistance and facilitation provided by IRISS and Who Cares? Scotland. The project demonstrated that research and evidence generated by people supported by services can be used to inform service change and improvement. Contact Emma Collins for further information.
The project generated several resources:
- Full project report
- Comic illustrating the project process
- Presentation of findings written by the young researchers
- Speak Out magazine article about the young people's experience of the project
- Response by Who Cares? Scotland to the findings from the research (pdf)
- Project brief given to potential partners (pdf)
