Knowledge Exchange Incentives

Theme: Embedding the use of knowledge, evidence and innovation

This project involves investigating the incentives for academics to engage with and make their work available to those outside academia.  It includes work funded by the Society for Research into Higher Education, being led by Fumi Kitagawa from Manchester Business School, to explore the academia incentives for knowledge exchange.  It also builds on work undertaken for IRISS by an ESRC student intern, Fiona Sherwood-Johnson, who has been investigating the role of university repositories as a mechanism for improving access to academic work for those outside academia.
