Practitioner research: Older people's support (PROPS)

Theme: Prevention

This project involves the co-production of knowledge between academic researchers, those involved in designing and delivering care, and those receiving care on reshaping care for older people.  The project involves supporting older people or those supporting older people to undertake small research projects to improve their care.

The project is being jointly lead with Heather Wilkinson from the Centre for research on families and relationships (University of Edinburgh).

Project partners: West Lothian Council; Glasgow Council; Joint Improvement Team; Alzheimer Scotland; Scottish Care; NHS Lothian.

Outcomes

Extend theoretical and practical understandings of the knowledge translation, brokerage and exchange processes across stakeholder groups, improve the volume and quality of research created between those involved in delivering care, and increase awareness of research.
