Criminal justice perspectives on rural social work

Our first webinar of the new year will share experiences of social work and policing in Shetland and Western Isles.

Join us on 1 February to hear from two criminal justice social workers and a criminologist.

Dr Anna Souhami, a criminologist and senior lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Edinburgh will argue that traditional criminological understanding, which derives from studies in urban contexts, limits our criminological imagination and that rural areas are a neglected source of rich learning.

Social workers, Christine Miller and Aman Toor, will also share their perspectives.

This webinar is of relevance to practitioners with an interest in what it means to work in hyper-remote and rural settings.
