IRISS Insights provide the social services workforce with brief, accessible and practice-oriented summaries of published evidence on key topics. These summaries have been developed through a process of rapid appraisal and highlight the practice implications of research evidence.
Unlike systematic evidence reviews, IRISS Insights do not attempt to comment exhaustively on the research base, or provide in-depth information on methodologies and ongoing theoretical debates. Instead, Insights seek to answer the “So what does this mean in practice?” question for each topic under consideration. We intend the summaries to support decision-making and to be of benefit to practitioners and policy makers alike.
