Research Practice Partnerships in social care

Research Practice Partnerships in social care: Research production or capacity building?

This session will explore work carried out within the Creating Care Partnerships study. The purpose of this NIHR funded study was to develop, implement and evaluate an approach called Research Practice Partnerships (RPPs) in adult social care.

RPPs are long-term collaborations between researchers and people working in social care that focus on doing and using research in practice. Three partnerships were set-up in Newcastle, Chester and Lancaster, with each partnership involving practitioners and researchers and focusing on those working in and with care homes for older people. You will hear from those involved about the key messages that have emerged from this work - the opportunities and challenges that have been presented along the way, as well as lessons for the future of these types of partnership approaches.
