Inspirational examples of evidence in action

Published in News on 24 Oct 2016

We're looking to capture and showcase inspirational examples from across the social services sector in Scotland on how the translation of evidence into action is being effectively supported within organisations. This could include structures, processes or supports (such as resources, roles or initiatives) that are in place to implement change using this evidence, and the impact that this has generated. This activity is part of the Improving Use of Evidence strand of the Social Services Strategy in Scotland 2015-2020

We really want to find out what is working for people, and how evidence use is being encouraged and implemented. It doesn't have to be huge initiatives, it can be small changes that have been put into place. We are using a wide understanding of evidence (e.g. knowledge from organisational practice, from research evidence or from service user experience) and would welcome submissions that have based action on any of these types of evidence. We want to share the examples we collect, find out what is working now, and try and learn what might help others use evidence in their work.

To do this, Iriss will write a report based on the submissions and there will be an event held in early 2017 showcasing these and bringing together national social services organisations who will have central roles in supporting the messages that come out of the submissions.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, 11th November 2016.

Further detail and add your submission.

If you have any questions about your submission, or the work in general, please don't hesitate to contact Stuart Muirhead (stuart.muirhead@iriss.org.uk) at Iriss.
