'Decent' work in social care

Published in News on 10 Aug 2020

This Oxfam–University of the West of Scotland and British Academy funded research aims to understand recent experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic, the positive and new challenges, and explore what the scope is for future progress in social care worker's job quality.

The researchers involved are currently looking for frontline workers from all social care settings to interview, via telephone or video call, about their experiences. The findings will be used to report to policy makers and the general public about what can be done about attaining 'decent' work. They are also keen to hear the employers point of view of the positive opportunities emerging and new challenges in dealing with them.
