Ubuntu, 'I am because we are'

Published in News on 9 Mar 2021

The theme of this year's World Social Work Day is Ubuntu: ‘I am because we are’, a concept and philosophy that aligns with the ethics of social work, and which reinforces the importance of global solidarity and co-operation as a profession.

The Scottish Association of Social Work (SASW) is running a number of events in March to bring people together - across borders and languages and cultures - to shine a light on what unites us as social workers across the UK and globally.

These events include challenging racism in social work and resilience and wellbeing in social work

The full schedule of UK events being held throughout March is available on the BASW website
