Homelessness

According to Shelter Scotland, every 16 minutes a household becomes homeless in Scotland. People who become homeless face additional risks, plus existing risks may become exacerbated. The resources in this section particularly look at the interface of homelessness and Adult Support and Protection in Scotland.

Radical safeguarding toolkit for homelessness

This co-produced toolkit shares information, ideas and inspiration for anti-oppressive approaches to safeguarding adults experiencing homelessness. It explores how social justice movements can shape the support and services on offer. The resource invites practitioners to reflect on the role of solidarity, autonomy, power and accountability in their work.

Dying homeless: Learning for anti-oppressive practice

This video presentation outlines the work of the Dying Homeless project, which aims to document and remember with love every person who dies while homeless in the UK. This presentation particularly focuses on harm and risk to people while homeless, spotlights promising practice, discusses the specific context in Scotland, and explores a 'whole-systems' approach as a potential way forward.
