The wellbeing web

What is the wellbeing web?

In 2011, Angus Council produced the wellbeing web. The wellbeing web is an interactive tool designed to facilitate an engaging and positive process to measure outcomes with children and adults. The wellbeing web is used to capture specific outcomes, and for those receiving support to recognise where they are, where they would like to be, and what steps they need to take to get there.

Minister for Children and Young People, Angela Constance MSP introduced 2011 Iriss Forum held in Glasgow on 6th December 2011. She has been the Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Livingston Constituency since May 2007, prior to which she worked as a social worker and mental health officer and was a local councillor in Livingston.

An outreach worker at the Centre was working with a young boy who was experiencing significant difficulties at school including aggression and non-compliance. He was being excluded and had also spent considerable periods of time being looked after away from home by other family members. During meetings which the boy was not part of it became clear that his own views and voice was not being heard.

Permanence and stability for disabled looked after children

Explores the evidence on the experiences of disabled looked after children in relation to permanence and placement stability in the care system. It examines if there are any particular difficulties in pursuing permanency and good practice for disabled looked after children.

Child sexual abuse is a not a subject that most people choose to dwell on for very long, however, the reality is that we are living in a world where such abuses can and do occur. Fortunately, there are initiatives doing good work to raise awareness of the issue and provide support in preventing child abuse.
