SCCJR's Ben Bradford discusses his paper about influencing trust and confidence in the London Met (co-authored with Elizabeth Stanko and Katrin Hohl). The paper details how the researchers measured levels of trust and confidence in the police across areas of London.

They then distributed leaflets about police activity to some wards and subsequently measured trust and confidence again. This allowed them to make comparisons in levels of trust and confidence over time and between those areas where leaflets were distributed and those where leaflets weren't distributed. They found that the leaflets had a positive impact on levels of trust and confidence with the police amongst the general public.
